The second email will confirm that we have enough wine to fill your order. We're sorry for any inconvenience and will do what we can to fill your order!

Thanks to your feedback we might bring back some of Cinderella Wine's popular previous offers. If a wine makes another appearance here, this newer offer will always be slightly higher than the original one. Offers that are on the site on Friday through Sunday will be shipped on Monday.

92 Pts John Gilman - View from the Cellar

"The 2010 Carelle Sous la Chapelle from Domaine Clos de la Chapelle is excellent, as it offers up a very pretty and soil-driven nose of cherries, pomegranate, woodsmoke, a touch of fresh herbs, a deft framing of cedary wood and a beautiful base of complex soil tones. On the palate the wine is deep, medium-full and intensely flavored, with lovely purity and brightness, a sappy core of fruit, moderate tannins and outstanding length and grip on the transparent and still quite primary finish. I love the intensity of flavor here, without any undue weight. This is a premier cru that I do not get to taste with any regularity, but it is quite clear from this beautiful wine that this is an important terroir in the village. Classic Volnay! 2020-2050+." Description:

Wine:
"Deep ruby color with light garnet hues. Finesse and elegance on the nose, with aromas of small red ripe fruits, exotic spices and violets, with a touch of minerality. The palate is full and round, with a generous finish. Delicate and velvety tannins, with nice acidity and length on the finish." - Winery

Vineyard:
"The Volnay appellation is found mid-slope in the Cote de Beaune, with Pommard to the north and Meursault to the south. Although there are no Grands Crus here, Volnay's 30 Premiers Crus are unmatched. Always appreciated for their finesse and beautiful bouquet, Volnays are often regarded as being feminine. The vines for this cuvee are on average 45 years old. This square shaped, "carre = Carelle", vineyard is located just below the beautiful 16th century chapel of Volnay."

"Dr. Lavalle listed this vineyard in his 1855 classifications as a "Tete de Cuvee", meaning one of the best of the commune. Found in the small band of 1er Crus of Volnay, it benefits from well-drained, limestone-rich soil. Facing southeast allows the vines to benefit from the morning and early afternoon sunlight, and makes this as well an early ripening parcel." - Winery
