Please note, orders are processed on a first come basis. If you leave the wine in your cart for even a few minutes it might have already sold out as our stock quantity is removed when you submit the order in final, not when you add it to your cart!

You will get two emails from us with regards to your order. The first email from us only confirms that we received your order. The second email will confirm that we have enough wine to fill your order. Due to the high volume of sales there are times when the wine has sold out, but our system is still updating and shows it as available. We're sorry for any inconvenience and will do what we can to fill your order!

Thanks to your feedback we might bring back some of Cinderella Wine's popular previous offers. If a wine makes another appearance here, this newer offer will always be slightly higher than the original one. Offers that are on the site on Friday through Sunday will be shipped on Monday.

92 Pts Antonio Galloni - Vinous

"Abrigo's 2006 Barbaresco Montersino is a dark, powerful offering loaded with black cherries, spices, smoke, tar and licorice, all of which are wrapped around an imposing frame. Today the tannins lack a measure of polish, but that should come with further bottle age. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2021."

"This is another set of impressive wines from Abrigo. All of the 2006 Barbarescos are made in a fairly powerful, tannic style. Within the context of Barbaresco, these single-vineyard bottlings are not that different from each other, or put another way, what comes through most is the style of the producer rather than that of the vineyards themselves." (10/09)

91 Pts Wine Spectator

"Sweet strawberry and cherry aromas, with hints of vanilla cream. Full-bodied, with ripe, soft, round tannins and outstanding depth of fruit. Best after 2012. 800 cases made. -JS" (09/09)

Description:

Wine:
"Ruby red with garnet highlights. Rich, complex, highly elegant bouquet revealing layers of violets, plums and cherries, cinnamon, pepper and liquorice, topped by tobacco and white truffles. Its dry, well-balanced flavour starts out firm and smooth, and packed with stuffing, becoming gradually more elegant and harmonious with a lingering finish." - Winery

Winemaking/Aging:
"Soft pressing of the grapes, followed by maceration on the skins for 6-10 days at a maximum temperature of 30 degrees C. The wine is then drawn off and racked into wood - 2/3 into Slavonian oak casks holding 20/30 hl, and 1/3 into small, new oak barrels - where it matures for 12/15 months. After clarification, the wine is bottled without filtration. Store lying down in cool surroundings." - Winery

Winery:
"The Abrigo family have been tending vineyards for generations, with their skills being handed down from father to son. In 1988 Giovanni Abrigo began working alongside his father, Orlando, in the family business. Giovanni set out to implement technical improvements in the winery, with the aim of producing wines of character. Subsequently the estate was extended with the acquisition of land and vineyards. Today, the Orlando Abrigo winery farms around 20 hectares of vineyards growing both traditional wines, such as Barbaresco, Dolcetto d'Alba, Barbera d'Alba and wines of the new generation. Together with Virna, he is also involved in the running of the VIRNA estate located in the village of Barolo, which is specialized in the production of the celebrated wine of the same name." - Importer
