Please note, orders are processed on a first come basis. If you leave the wine in your cart for even a few minutes it might have already sold out as our stock quantity is removed when you submit the order in final, not when you add it to your cart!

You will get two emails from us with regards to your order. The first email from us only confirms that we received your order. The second email will confirm that we have enough wine to fill your order. Due to the high volume of sales there are times when the wine has sold out, but our system is still updating and shows it as available. We're sorry for any inconvenience and will do what we can to fill your order!

Thanks to your feedback we might bring back some of Cinderella Wine's popular previous offers. If a wine makes another appearance here, this newer offer will always be slightly higher than the original one. Offers that are on the site on Friday through Sunday will be shipped on Monday.

94 Pts Antonio Galloni - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

"The 2006 Barolo Santo Stefano di Perno is a decidedly more important and interesting wine in this vintage. A fresh, vibrant hue leads to glorious dark fruit, menthol, spices and sweet medicinal herbs. Elements of classic austerity and ripeness play off each other as this structured, powerful Barolo opens up in the glass. This is a fabulous vintage for the Santo Stefano di Perno. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2031." (12/10)

Description:

"Barrel sample. Scented and expressive with rose petals and cherry. Tastes like wild strawberries! Such delicacy and elegance of fruit. Finely stitched, etched tannins. Long and feminine. A pleasure to taste. Drink from 2013-2019. (TC)" - 17.5 out of 20 Points, Jancis Robinson's Purple Pages.

Wine:
"Nebbiolo grapes, from the Santo Stefano vineyard in Perno in Monforte d'Alba. The soil is Clayey-sandy, calcareous, composed of brown clay and grey sand of marine origin. The grapes are harvested by hand in the first two weeks in October. The wine is aged in large Slovenian oak casks for 36 months. This Barolo offers big, bold dark fruit flavors, accented by aomas of violets, menthol and sweet spices. This vineyard has been owned by the Mascarello family since 1989." - Importer

Winery:
"Since time immemorial Nebbiolo has been the most highly-prized vine and the wine-growing emblem of Alba and the Langa, and when it is matched with a great wine-making terroir it is capable of expressing itself at sublime levels in wines of remarkable personality, intense bouquet, great smooth tannins, and outstanding possibilities of evolution and resistance over time."

"The members of the Giuseppe Mascarello family have been growing wines for more than a century and a half, first as farmers running the Manescotto estate in the village of La Morra for the marchesa Giulia Colbert Faletti di Barolo, and then on their own property since the late 1800s." - Winery
