"After many years as a consulting winemaker, David Cowderoy settled in the quaint town of Puicheric and bought a plot of land deep in the heart of the Minervois region of France David has 8 hectares (19.77 acres) of rather densely planted vines (3800-5000/ha), mainly on the northern face of the hillsides, surrounded by wild garrigue and woodland. The vines range in age between 10 to 70 years old. Sustainable agriculture is the preferred practice in his rocky plots, and everything is manually harvested with berry triage to ensure the quality and health of his grapes."
"Yields are low, varying according to the year between 25-40 hl/ha. His core philosophy is to let the fruit do the talking. Fermentation is in a mix of small American and European oak barrels of varying toast and age. The resulting wines are beautiful, well-balanced, medium-to-big bodied reds from Syrah, Mourvedre, Grenache and old-vine Carignan." -Importer
