More Ratings:

93 Pts Wine Spectator

"A big, brooding style, dense with tannins and focused on the chewy, licorice-and-tar side of the flavor spectrum. Offers plenty of sweet fruit, balanced in a broad-shouldered way, with a fine, savory finish. Best from 2016 through 2035. -B.S" (01/13)

92 Pts James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com

"Super nose of dark fruits, dark chocolate and spices. Even some dried chillies. Full-bodied, with super fine and polished tannins and a long finish. Hints of new wood and licorice. Balanced. Better in 2014." (07/12)

90 Pts Antonio Galloni - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

"The 2008 Barolo is a pretty, understated wine laced with dark red fruit, flowers, spices, mint and licorice. The tannins could use another year to soften, but this mid-weight, vinous wine is well suited for drinking over the next few years. If opened today, the wine needs at least 30 minutes of air for the aromatics to find their focus. This is a terrific entry-level Barolo. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018." (04/12)

"The wine is made of Nebbiolo and the soil is calcareous and clay. The harvest period starts in mid-October. The vinification happens in horizontal rotating macerators for approximately 4 days in contact with skins, completion of alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks in approximately 10 days, malolactic fermentation in French barrels. The wine is aged 24 months in French barrels using 20% new and 80% used, and bottled in the month of July of the year preceding market release." - Winery

About Revello:
"The Revello family went tenant-farmer of a domain owned by the parish S. Martin in La Morra, in 1954. The year after Giovanni, our grandfather, and his two sons started to cultivate the vineyards, the grapes were sold to bigger producer.

We have to wait till 1967 for the first vinification by the Revello family, the wine then sold on the market. At 1982 the activity stopped for five years, because Enzo and Carlo choosed other professions.

1987 Carlo decided to turn back to the family domain and continue to work with the wine, after three years, also Enzo decided to come back, and they took over the farm from their father Giacomo and their uncle Ercole.

Since 1992 Enzo and Carlo are producing their own wine. With special work in the vineyards, reducing the production of the vine plant, and with help of a new technology at the vinfication, moment. They are using french barrique and following the precious advises of Elio Altare." - Winery
