Description:

2004 Ardente Grande Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon:
"The warm vintage worked in this wine's favor, ripening the grapes to blackberry and black currant fruitiness, while preserving the dryness and fine tannins of Atlas Peak. At the age of more than six years, it still remains rather tough and resistant. Considering its mountain origins, it should slowly develop additional bottle complexity over the next 6-8 years." 92 Pts Wine Enthusiast (05/11)

WINE:
"The warm summer days of 2004, combined with cool evenings provided a perfect growing season for our Cabernet Sauvignon fruit. The concentrated, well ripened berries resulted in a dark red wine, with complex flavors of cassis, black currant and Bing cherries. The wine spent 2 years in small French oak barrels, and aged another 30 months in the bottle, resulting in a luscious wine with moderate tannins and well balanced acidity." -Winery

WINERY:
"Ardente Estate Winery was founded in 1996 on a twenty acre estate located in the quiet hills of Atlas Peak in Napa Valley. The area was selected for its rich volcanic soil, 1500 feet elevation and moderate microclimate which provide perfect condition for growing high quality Cabernet Sauvignon. Our wines are hand-crafted and aged to be enjoyed upon release, with a depth of flavor, great acidity and a promise of a long aging." -Winery

2008 - Kangarilla Road Cabernet Sauvignon:
"Polished, focused and appealing for the minty overtones that seep into the cherry and black pepper flavors, lingering on the refined finish. Drink now through 2015. 3,000 cases made. -HS" (06/10) 90 Pts Wine Spectator

WINE:
"Deep purple in colour. A spicy and multi-layered herbaceous nose with hints of sweet rhubarb and dark berries. An intense velvety palate showing plums, blackcurrants and dates with nuances of cinnamon, coffee and dark chocolate and fine chalky tannins." -Winery

WINERY:
"Kangarilla Road was established by Helen and Kevin O'Brien in 1997. Kangarilla Road is the main road running past the vineyard towards the small village of Kangarilla, the name a derivation of the Australian Aboriginal language and refers to the abundance of resources locally."

"Kevin O'Brien is an oenologist with 20 years experience in the wine industry. Helen O'Brien brings flair to Kangarilla Road and has extensive experience in the public relations, promotions and fashion industries."

"McLaren Vale is for us the best region in Australia to achieve the wine styles that we want to produce. This vineyard and winery - which was originally established back in 1975 - offers us 30 acres of mature vines that contribute rich fruit characters so typical of McLaren Vale." -Winery

This was rated 87 points by the International Wine Cellar.

2006 Roudon Smith Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon:
"Aged for 17 months in American oak casks which adds a nice backdrop of aromas and flavors to the fruit of black currant and black cherry. The finish is crisp and lingering." Winery

WINERY:
"Roudon-Smith Winery was founded in 1972 by Bob and Annamaria Roudon and Jim and June Smith. The winery is dedicated to the production of exceptional wines from the vineyards of the Santa Cruz Mountains, including our estate-grown Chardonnay. We also purchase grapes from selected vineyards in other regions of the state. Traditional wine-making methods result in elegant, long-lived wines, the perfect complement to a meal."

"The once visionary venture of the 70s has aged well. Currently Roudon-Smith enjoys a solid maturity, built by a consistency of product that has won medals for the winery from the very beginning. Matching vintages of carefully chosen vineyards, Roudon-Smith specializes in Estate grown Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot."

"The hand-made vintages of Roudon-Smith, once the exclusive province of a devoted Santa Cruz Mountain following are now distributed throughout the United States, pleasing judges, wine lovers and gourmets across the continent. Making dreams come true - for its entrepreneurs and its public - Roudon-Smith Vineyards provides fine, affordable, distinctive and endlessly drinkable wines that have helped build the reputation enjoyed by California wines today." -Winery
