Please note, orders are processed on a first come basis. If you leave the wine in your cart for even a few minutes it might have already sold out as our stock quantity is removed when you submit the order in final, not when you add it to your cart!

You will get two emails from us with regards to your order. The first email from us only confirms that we received your order. The second email will confirm that we have enough wine to fill your order. Due to the high volume of sales there are times when the wine has sold out, but our system is still updating and shows it as available. We're sorry for any inconvenience and will do what we can to fill your order!

Thanks to your feedback we might bring back some of Cinderella Wine's popular previous offers. If a wine makes another appearance here, this newer offer will always be slightly higher than the original one. Offers that are on the site on Friday through Sunday will be shipped on Monday.

"Powerful yet racy, this youthful red boasts a beam of black cherry and boysenberry fruit, with plenty of licorice, mineral and toast notes. Fresh, harmonious and graceful, in the modern style. Drink now through 2020. -TM" (04/12)

Description:

WINE:
"Cherry red with ripe-cherry tones, lively, good maturation tones, good colour, intense, ripe-cherry red. Hearty, fresh and complex on the nose, elegant and creamy, somewhat syrupy, with an agreeable oak floor and ripe-fresh cherry fruit flavour. Round, rich, flavourful and voluminous, a bit fleshy and long lasting with very intense finish." -Winery

VINEYARDS:
"La Rioja is divided into three different areas: Upper La Rioja, Alavesa and Lower La Rioja. This last area where Vina Herminia is located has a clear advantage: Altitude. The best La Rioja wines owe their quality to altitude, benefitting from the vast differences between the day and nighttime temperatures, which allow the grapes to develop a significant complexity and quality. At the border of the Lower La Rioja lie the foothills of the Pyrenees. Due to the altitude and orientation, certain slopes enjoy considerable sunshine throughout the day, which means relatively high temperatures during the day in contrast to intense cold at night, offering optimal conditions for producing exceptional quality grapes." -Winery

WINERY:
"The origin of the name dates back to the admiration that Mr. Joaquin Lagunilla Artacho professed for his wife, Mrs. Herminia Casas Madorran, for whom he dedicated a vine named after her on his property in the municipality of Cenicero, La Rioja. In 1885, at only 20 years old, his father, Mr. Felipe Lagunilla San Martin, founded Bodegas Lagunilla. He had one daughter, Mrs. Casilda Lagunilla Artacho and a son, Mr. Joaquin Lagunilla Artacho, who took over the winery in 1927. Under his leadership, he established labels such as Vallezarza, Valderrin and most important to us, Vina Herminia in 1949, founded in honour of his wife."

"Finally at the end of the '90s, the Grupo Caballero, decided to enter the world of La Rioja wines. In doing so, they contacted Vinedos de Aldeanueva S. Coop. creating the Bodegas Vina Herminia, SL in December 1997. The winery is fully equipped and has a modern building constructed in the form of an H, symbolizing the initial of the Herminia brand, which is home to 8,000 American French and Eastern Europe oak barrels." -Winery
