"This wine is by far our winery's crown jewel. A classic wine where the "terroir" expression is brought by the quality and personality of some of the best vineyards of the estate Monte Alto which have always been respectfully famed. The result is great developing wine, with an outstanding personality and finesse which guarantees reward to the patient collector." "Crianza (13 to 18 months in oak barrels)."
HISTORY:
"Due to the geographical gift, the Monte Alto estate, is settled over the two country towns with the greatest repercussion of "D.O. Ribera Del Duero": Valbuena de Duero and Pesquera de Duero. In the same place, and sharing with both territories, the winery is risen and the Montebaco vineyards are spread out. The Monte Alto estate is one of the most representative wine farms in the province of Valladolid. An extensive agriculture and important livestock, were the main farms business until the mid-eighties, moment in which, the manufacturer from Valladolid Manuel Esteban and his family, foresaw a successful country vine-growing. After some attempts, 20 hectares of Tinto Fino were planted in 1987. Nowadays, the current Montebaco empire, has 50 hectares."
VINEYARD:
"The vineyard is around the wine cellar building between Valbuena and Pesquera del Duero. Although the plantation is just 4km from the river, its location in the Jaramiel Stream Valley, to 850-900 meters high, gives it some particular geoclimatic characteristics which turn the Montebaco Estate in to an "island" belonging to prestigious Designation of Origin."
