90 Pts Josh Raynolds - Vinous Media
"Dark red. Vibrant raspberry, cherry and blackcurrant aromas complicated by fresh rose, white pepper and black tea. Crisp on entry, favoring red fruits, then loosens up with air to display an array of fresh dark berries, with subtle chocolate and espresso notes adding depth. Slow-building tannins carry through the long, juicy finish, with gentle oak spice adding sweetness to this suave, juicy midweight. Hold off on opening this for at least another three or four years to allow the primary fruit to settle down." 90 points - Josh Raynolds - International Wine Cellar
"Pearson Vineyards are located in the heart of the Clare Valley at Pentwotham. Each vintage we make a limited quantity of premium wine. Our vines are hand pruned and hand picked at optimum grape maturity, enabling us to craft wines with flavour and balance."
"Traditional open fermentation and basket pressing were followed by two years maturation in French oak barrels to enhance the rich fruit, deep colour, and firm tannins of Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon." -Winery
"The Clare Valley, just to the north west of the Barossa Valley, but joined with the Adelaide Hills in the Mount Lofty Ranges Zone, is one of the unspoilt jewels of South Australia. The narrow, twisting folds of the hills provide an intimacy in total contrast to the flat, featureless plain of Coonawarra...Most of the wineries are small; almost all produce Riesling, Shiraz, and Cabernet Sauvignon, the red wines being intensely coloured, deeply flavoured, and long lived, often with a skein of eucalypt mint running through them."
