The 2005 Pertimali Brunello is 100% Sangiovese Grosso from Tuscany in Italy and the ABV is 13.5%. The 2006 Tenute Costa Due Corti Barolo is 100% Nebbiolo from the Piedmont region of Italy and the ABV is 14.5%.

There is surprising depth to the round fruit. Though delicious today, this is one of the few 2005 Brunellos that needs bottle age for some of the tannins to soften. It is a fabulous 2005. "This is an impressive Barolo by a wine company (with superstar consulting enologist Carlo Ferrini at the head of winemaking) that is relatively new to the scene. Due Corti proves this winery knows what it's doing. Aromas of red rose, violet and exotic spice come forward immediately. Indeed, this is an extremely floral and perfumed wine with silky, smooth tannins." 94 points Wine Enthusiast
