"Contini's 2003 Barrile is a blend of 85% Nieddera and 15% Caddiu, both indigenous varieties, aged in French oak. It is a stunningly beautiful wine packed with sweet, plummy fruit that somehow manages to balance its notable intensity and richness with a weightless palate presence. "It is a wine with outstanding organoleptic characteristics obtained from a skilled blending of Nieddera (85% ca) with other indigenous varieties, among which are Caddiu, an extremely crisp and fragrant variety. Barrile is initially refined in barriques for 10-12 months, and later in bottles for at least 6 months. Its aroma is intense and fragrant, its taste is full, soft and suavely spicy from the wood." -Winery
