"The 2005 Barolo Vigna S. Caterina shows an additional level of plumpness in its fruit relative to the Lazzairasco that I find especially attractive in this vintage. This is a brighter, higher-toned style of Barolo defined by well-articulated floral aromatics and ripe red fruit that balances the tannins nicely through to the finish. This is a gorgeous, classy effort from Guido Porro. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2023."
