"Cold maceration of the must in contact with the grape skins and pulp during the first days. The average temperature during fermentation was of 18 degrees Celsius. It is bottled during the following year and is best during it's first year." -Winery

"It was the writer Gonzalo de Berceo who wrote the first Romance verses mentioning the Rioja wine. There is evidence of vine growing and wine making during the Roman domination. But it was during the Middle Ages, when the monasteries started growing vineyards, that the knowledge and excellence of the great wines began to reach the people of the surrounding areas."
"Because of all these reasons, in 1890 Frederick Anglade Saurat, of the Bordeaux firm "Anglade" founded, along with other Spanish partners, Bodegas Franco-Espanolas. Counsellors such as the Count of Venancourt, Alejo Lepine, Vicente RodrÃguez Paterna, the Count of Romanones and A. Dupeyron were some of the members of the first Boards of Directors." -Winery
