"The purple-colored 2006 Galena is composed of 35% Garnacha Negra, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, and 15% Carinena aged for 12 months in French and American oak. The nose offers up cedar, pencil lead, incense, black cherry, and blueberry leading to a firm full-bodied wine that has plenty of spicy fruit and considerable tannin. It seems to have the ingredients to achieve balance but that will require a minimum of 3-5 years of additional cellaring." 90+ Points - Jay Miller - Wine Advocate

VINEYARD:
"The winery's vineyard in El Molar ( Catalonia ) is made up of eleven hectares of wine stocks which are surrounded by woods and open countryside and belong to the prestigious D.O.C. Priorat."

"Every year the vines are controlled using strictly scientific criteria in order to produce ripe fruit which reflect the "terroir" and natural surroundings."

WINERY:
"The winery is called Domini de la Cartoixa (The Priory's domain) and as the name indicates, these lands were once owned by the Carthusian monks of Scala Dei Priory. As well as promoting the cultivation of the vines in the Middle Ages, these monks drenched the Priorat with a spirituality which can still be felt as one walks through the old vineyards today. Grape production is kept low and extreme care is taken, giving top quality wines made using a traditional winemaking system.
