"Ocra, "the blood of the earth", was created in Bolgheri, a locality which enjoys an exceptional winegrowing microclimate: vinified with highly modern and avant-garde systems, it is a dry wine with soft, enveloping tannins."

"The wine spends 12 months in barriques. The color is a deep ruby red. Long notes of blackberries and bilberries with a slight hint of leather on the nose. On the palate it is fine, keen, and warm. Drink with red meat roasts, game, charcuterie and medium-very ripe cheeses. Winemaker

"Acquired in 1999 by Prince Strozzi the Estate of Le Pavoniere boards the famous Bolgherese Road which links the Bolgheri area with the capital Castagneto Carducci. It is devoted to specialised new plantations of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah and other experimental varieties."

"In setting up the most recent vines an attempt has been made to maintain the traditional style of the place, seeking to reproduce faithfully the cultivating technique which plans rows of vines alternating with age-old olive trees."
