Description:

2005 Artadi El Pison:
"As for the 2005 Vina El Pison, like the 2005 Pagos Viejos, it is just a bit more muted and not quite as explosive on the nose and palate. It will take more time to fully strut its stuff but, make no mistake, it too is a legend in the making. Kudos to Bodegas Artadi for this tour de force!" -98 points- Jay Miller- Wine Advocate

"Inky ruby. Dense red and dark berry liqueur aromas are energized by zesty mineral and fresh floral qualities. Precise and suave, offering sweet red berry flavors and sexy oak spice character that's in no way ostentatious. I find the restraint of this wine to be utterly compelling, as is the balance of power and finesse on the long, spicy finish. An exotic floral pastille quality simply doesn't let up." -95 points- Josh Raynolds- International Wine Cellar

VINEYARD:
"The Pison vineyard produces a wine which is a reflection of the knowledge of our ancestors and our passion to keep the spirit of the vineyard alive."

"The balance of Natural elements results in a wine full of fine fruits, delicate spices, mineral hints and silky tannins."

"Vina el Pison is a wine full of body and character, elegant, with depth and complex sensations." -Winemaker

2006 Penfolds Shiraz RWT:
"The 2006 RWT Shiraz was aged for 14 months in 70% new French oak hogsheads. The winery describes its style as opulent and fleshy compared to Grange's muscular and assertive personality. Opaque purple in color, it offers aromas of Asian spices, beef juice, toast, blueberry, and licorice. Rich, fleshy, and round, it has plenty of underlying tannin, impeccable balance, and a long, pure finish. It will deliver prime drinking from 2014 to 2030." -95 points- Jay Miller- Wine Advocate

"Smooth and refined, with a wet earth note adding interest to the ripe blueberry, plum and licorice flavors, which linger against a burr of tannins on the long finish. Best from 2011 through 2016. 450 cases imported." -93 Points - Wine Spectator

"Deep ruby with a bright rim. Rich cherry compote, blueberry and fruitcake aromas are complicated by sexy Asian spices and flowers. Plush black raspberry and cherry-cola flavors are given a refreshingly bitter edge by notes of rhubarb and cracked pepper, picking up silky tannins on the back end. Seductively sweet but focused, with strong finishing minerality and lingering cherry/berry character." 93 Points - Josh Raynolds - International Wine Cellar

WINE:
"RWT draws fruit from 20 to 100 year-old vineyards arcing across the west and north-west of the Barossa Valley, mostly independently grown. The best vineyards produce fruit of voluptuous intensity, ripe tannins, and juicy flavours. The RWT Shiraz has a very seductive style with a plum/blueberry fruit profile and fine ripe tannins underpinned by savoury French oak."

"Since its first vintage in 1997, collectors have recognised the sheer class of RWT. Already the wine has a strong secondary market following, illustrating its collectability and cellaring potential." -Winery

2004 Arrowood Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon:
"The age worthiness and brilliant quality of Dick Arrowood's Reserve Speciale Cabernet Sauvignon is reflected time and time again in blind tastings when it is inserted against Napa's finest. Recently, the 1995 acquitted itself at the top of the group in a tasting of some of the very best 1995s from Napa. This is a sensational wine that is blended from different top vineyard sources in Sonoma Valley. The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Speciale, which spent 30 months in oak before being bottled unfiltered, has a deep ruby/purple color and a gorgeous nose of cedar, crushed rocks, black cherry, and cassis, with some licorice and roasted herbs."

"The wine has fabulous intensity, a full-bodied, opulent palate, ripe tannin, and a long 50-second finish. Arrowood made just under 2,100 cases of this superb wine, and for the price, it is a relatively good value in high-end northern California Cabernet. This wine should drink well for 10-20+ years." -95 points Robert Parker

"A great, elegant Cabernet to drink now and for the next four years or so. It’s soft in acids and satiny in tannins, with extraordinarily delicious blackberry- and cherry-pie filling, anise liqueur, cassis, cola and sweet, smoky oak flavors. Gets better as it breathes in the glass." 93 Points - Wine Enthusiast

"Inky ruby. Mineral-dominated bouquet offers smoky red- and blackcurrant, dark cherry, iron and raw meat; smells like a Graves. Deep, rich and powerful, offering chewy dark berry and bitter cherry flavors and finishing with firm tannic grip. A medium-bodied, intensely flavored wine with very good finishing lift and persistence. This is very nicely balanced." 90 Points - Josh Raynolds - International Wine Cellar

WINE:
"Every few years, when nature cooperates, we are able to produce a Réserve Spéciale Cabernet Sauvignon. It is our signature wine composed of the best barrels from the best sites in Sonoma County. Lush, layered and complex it captures the fingerprint of the variety, the attributes of the vintage and the character of the terroir."

"The 2004 vintage gave Richard Arrowood a wide spectrum of wines to use in his final blend. The growing season opened with a heat wave in the first half of March triggering an early bloom. The remainder of the year was noteworthy for its warm days, cool nights and morning fog. All in all, we feel it was one of the finest Cabernet vintages of the last decade."

"The 2004 Réserve Spéciale features fruit from three of the finest benchland and mountain sites in Sonoma County: Monte Rosso Vineyard, Smothers-Remick Ridge Vineyards and Murray Ranch. The weight and concentration of the wine allowed for extended aging in French and American oak barrels." -Winery
