"The Gran Reserva has a dark ruby color and savory aromas of red berry fruit, plum, and smoke with a touch of lavender. On the palate it reveals a supple texture, ripe and lush red berry fruit, sweet oak, soft polished tannins and a long finish." 91 Points - International Wine Review

"Bodega Cicchitti was founded in 1982 in Guymallen, Mendoza, by Jose Antonio Cicchitti. Cicchitti uses grapes from its Estate only (240 acres). Yields are kept low. The grapes are carefully selected and handpicked into small cases of 30 pounds. Fermentation takes place in small concrete tanks. Only native yeasts are used. Jose Antonio manages to keep a surprising low profile in spite of the high quality of his wines." -Importer

"The Mendoza Province is one of Argentina's most important wine regions, accounting for nearly two-thirds of the country's entire wine production. Located in the eastern foothills of the Andes, in the shadow of Mount Aconcagua, vineyards are planted at some of the highest altitudes in the world with the average site located 1,970-3,610 feet (600-1,100 meters) above sea level."

"The principal wine producing areas fall into two main departments-Maipu and Lujan which includes Argentina's first delineated appellation established in 1993 in Lujan de Cuyo. The pink-skinned grapes of Criolla Grande and Cereza account for more than a quarter of all plantings but Malbec is the regions most important planting followed closely by Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo and Chardonnay.
