93 Pts Robert Parker - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The 2002 Perry's Blend (62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Merlot and Petit Verdot) exhibits aromas of white flowers, blueberries, black currants, and a hint of wood. Possessing medium to full body, terrific fruit purity, and admirable symmetry as well as elegance, this powerful red wine should drink well for 10-15 years."
"As I have written before, Carolyn and Perry Butler have quickly made Juslyn one of the finest sources of top quality wine on Spring Mountain. They planted their estate vineyard in 1997 and have been sourcing high quality grapes from several of Andy Beckstoffer's top Napa Valley vineyards." 93 Points - Robert Parker - Wine Advocate
"This Cabernet-based blend has some pedigreed vineyard fruit in it, including Tokalon and Beckstoffer Georges III. Itâs extremely soft and complex, but not showing all that well at this moment. Seems a bit closed down, muted. But itâs a very fine wine that probably needs time to open. Drink 2008â2010." 92 Points - Wine Enthusiast
"The 2002 vintage was bountiful in the Napa V alley, resulting in red wines that exhibit characteristics of plush fruit and structured tannins. Perry's Blend, named for vintner Perry Butler, drinks well by itself or paired with dinner, and should age well for several years."
"Flavors and Aromatics: Black cherry, cedar, lavender, and vanilla. Palate and Finish: Round,medium-bodied,soft fine-grain tannins, smooth but lively finish of medium-length."
"52% George III-Rutherford, 35% Tokalon-Oakville, 13% Spring Mountain
62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Cabernet Franc, 3% Merlot,1% Petite Verdot" -Winemaker
"When British ex-patriots Perry and Carolyn Butler moved to California in 1982, they never dreamed they would own 42 acres of prime vineyard land in the heart of Napa Valley. They arrived in California as high-tech pioneers and founded their own computer company in the San Francisco Bay area. After routine 80-hour work weeks, the couple relaxed during weekend trips to Napa Valley, where they were bitten by the wine bug. Dreams of high-tech dominance soon turned to thoughts of returning to the land and grape growing."
"In 1997, their dream became a reality when Perry and Carolyn sold their computer business and founded Juslyn Vineyards on a site overlooking the renowned Spring Mountain Winery. (The name, Juslyn, is derived from the names, Justine-the Butlers' daughter-and Carolyn.) In 1998, they made their first vintage of Juslyn from grapes purchased from Andy Beckstoffer as they waited patiently for their own vines to mature. Their patience paid in 2000, when they were able to harvest their estate for the first time to produce 80 cases of Spring Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon."
"Since then, there has been no turning back. Perry and Carolyn have committed to making the best wine possible in the heart of Napa Valley's acclaimed Spring Mountain District. Having received 90+points from accredited publications like Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (December 2003) and Wine and Spirits Magazine (August 2004), the Butler's are proving that they are on the path of success and truly living the American dream. -Winery
