91 Pts Jay Miller - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 10% Malbec; Cedar, red currant, cassis, and cranberry, mouth-filling." 91 Points - Jay Miller - Wine Advocate
"Dark red. Explosively aromatic nose combines redcurrant, cherry, licorice and flowers, complicated by tobacco and dried herbs. Juicy, vinous and penetrating, with noteworthy energy to the sharply delineated flavors of redcurrant, spices, pepper and fresh herbs. Showing its cabernet side today. Very classy, aromatic wine with no shortage of volume. Finishes with a firm tannic spine and excellent length. This can be enjoyed now or held. An outstanding value." 91 Points - Stephen Tanzer - International Wine Cellar
"Our vineyard is located at the foothill of Cordón del Plata in the town of Vista Flores (1,050 mts asl), it is a region of wide thermal amplitude. The property has a total cultivated surface of 96 ha of different varieties of Vitis vinifera: Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, which are highlighted for their great enological potential. They are used to produce high-quality blends, as well as Pinot Noir. Our distinctive feature is the high concentration of plantations (5500 plants/ha) ahead the majority of the fields in Argentina (3000 plants/ha)."
"Taking into account that the yield is never higher than 50 qq/ha, we can observe that the individual yield per plant is very low so as to get balanced production stability. The Calcura vineyard takes its name from âblue stonesâ that are abundant in the soil providing limestone and excellent drainage. A selection of only the best grapes are taken from two sorting tables. Extended maceration for up to 30 days ensures the soft tannins and elegant profile." -Winemaker
"Some call it a rebirth, others a revolution, whatever the term Gerardo Cartellone and Anne-Caroline Biancheri epitomize the new face and taste of Argentine Winemaking. Together, they developed Antucura, a three hundred acre vineyard and winery in the Vista Flores area of Mendoza's Uco Valley." -Importer
