Description:

2007 Viticcio Chianti Classico Reserva

"Subtle currant, cedar and floral aromas follow through to a dense, full-bodied palate of ripe fruits and silky tannins, with a long finish. A little age will soften this just slightly. Really serious. Best after 2010. 3,000 cases made.–JS" 93 Points - Wine Spectator

"The estate’s 2007 Chianti Classico Riserva comes together beautifully in the glass, with layers of perfumed fruit that flow effortlessly from a rich, generous frame. There is wonderful depth and persistence in suggestions of red fruit, earthiness, tobacco and licorice that come to life on the palate. This is one of the more firm 2007s I have come across and it needs to be opened well in advance. Sweet floral notes add brightness and lift to the finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2022. Viticcio is an excellent source for well-priced wines from the heart of Chianti Classico." 91+ Points - Antonio Galloni - Wine Advocate

WINE:
"Fattoria Viticcio’s Chianti Classico Riserva is the result of careful selection of the finest grapes during harvesting, with a predominance of Tuscan Sangiovese. Vinification is carried out in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats with a long maceration period. Rapid warming of the cellar at the end of the primary fermentation phase enables the swift onset of malolactic fermentation."

"Depending on the vintage, the wine is aged – in varying proportions and periods of time – in both medium-sized oak barrels and small oak barriques, in order to enhance the aromas to the full. The wine is then aged in horizontally-stored bottles and in temperature-controlled cellars for a minimum of 6 months." -Winery

2007 Ave Malbec Gran Reserva

"Dark, with licorice snap, espresso and black Mission fig notes that pump along, while hints of charred mesquite, roasted vanilla bean and black tea fill in behind them. The long finish has nice underlying minerality. Drink now through 2011. 1,500 cases made." -91 Points - Wine Spectator

WINE:
"100 % Gran Riserva Malbec. from Perdriel, Mendoza, Argentina. The vineyards are 3 ha in Perdriel, Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, at 950 m above sea level. Aged 16 to 18 months in French and Italian oak barriques and 12 to 14 months in the bottle." -Winemaker

WINERY:
"“AVE!” (The classic greeting of the Caesars). The passion of this meaningful greeting is reflected in our wines in which Tuscany’s tradition and New World modernity are blended together in perfect unison. Ave is our main project in Argentina. It incorporates Italian style and taste with those of Argentina. AVE is conceived, developed and signed by Alberto Antonini, one of the world’s most prestigious winemakers." -Winery

2009 Jadot Morgon Chateau St. Jacques

"Bright ruby. High-pitched aromas of red berries, spicecake and herbs, plus a hint of cracked pepper. Spicy, incisive red fruit flavors show a bitter edge and pick up a smoky quality in the mid-palate. Tannins build with air and add definition to the firm, spicy, very persistent finish. This wine will age." 90 Points - Josh Raynolds - International Wine Cellar

"Red raspberry, rhubarb, and smoked meat pungently scent Chateau des Jacques’s 2009 Morgon cuvee, then come to a saliva-inducing and tartly-invigorating palate – one of this estate’s 2009 that seems to defy the vintage norms – leading to a vivacious finish in which white pepper, salt, smoked meat, and herbs alternate with sappy, snappy red fruits. There is a hint of extraneous wood resin that needs to integrate, and this is one 2009 that could benefit from putting on a bit of fat – which might happen – but is already a delight and sure to remain so for at least 3-4 years." 89-90+ Points - David Schildknecht

WINE:
"Morgon is one of the 10 Crus' of the Beaujolais. The production area of Morgon is about 1 100 hectares (2 750 acres) on a granite and schist soil. Maison Jadot bought this vineyard in 2001. It is situated on the slopes over the village of Villié Morgon, facing South to South-East. It covers 87.5 acres on the Morgon appellation."

"This wine is vinified in vats for 12 to 20 days. Since the 2001 vintage, we produce different "cuvées" from the different Clos : Côte du Py, Bellevue and Les Charmes. They are then aged in oak barrels before bottling." -Winery
