2007 Tua Rita Perlato Del Bosco Red
"The 2007 Perlato del Bosco offers up mineral-infused blueberries, violets, tar and licorice. At first rather tense, the wine opens up nicely, with a gorgeous, muscular expression of fruit that is married with superb clarity and freshness throughout. Impeccably polished tannins inform the beautiful, long finish. Sweet scents of pipe tobacco add a sense of lift on the close. This is a marvelous effort from Tua Rita and a hugely over-achieving wine relative to the estateâs top bottlings. Needless to say, the 2007 Perlato del Bosco is highly recommended. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2027. "
"This is a gorgeous set of new wines from Tua Rita. Perhaps the best news for consumers is there is very little qualitative difference between the estateâs more modestly-priced wines and the high-end bottlings, something that is typical of quite a few properties in Maremma in 2007." 94 Points - Antonio Galloni - Wine Advocate
"A blend of 70% Sangiovese, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Syrah from the Perlato del Bosco vineyard. The grapes are harvested between late September and early October. After a gentle pressing, the must is macerated with the skins for 15 to 18 days. The cap is manually punched down daily for greater color and flavor extraction. The wine is aged for 20 months in oak barrels, and refined six months in the bottle before release."
"Concentrated and dense, Perlato del Bosco is brilliant ruby red in color with dark hues. This gorgeous wine offers supple aromas of blackberry, cherry liqueur, currants, ripe plums, incense and leather. Perlato del Bosco is dense, full-bodied and spicy on the palate with mellow tannins and a persistent note of licorice on the finish. Recommended with roast beef, rich pastas, steaks, sausages and aged cheeses. " -Importer

2005 Saint Jean Du Barroux L'oligocene
"The 2005 Cotes de Ventoux is a gorgeous blend of 75% Grenache, 15% Syrah, and the rest Carignan and Cinsault. The wine's bouquet is reminiscent of a great Cote Rotie even though the Syrah component is small and no Viognier is utilized. Exotic floral aromas intermixed with blackberry and cherry fruit jump from the glass. In the mouth, the wine is soft, velvety, medium to full-bodied, pure, elegant, and exotic. Drink this beauty over the next 4-5 years.
Former pharmacist Philippe Gimel uses a combination of organic and bio-dynamic farming methods in this vineyard." 91 Points - Robert Parker - Wine Advocate
"Le Barroux is a small Provencal town located in the heart of the Vaucluse. Its twelfth century castle overhangs the stone-built village houses and picturesque alleys. In between the two famous mountains, the Mont Ventoux and the Dentelles de Montmirail, le Barroux is renowned as being an excellent tourist site, providing a magnificent scenic point of view. Nature surrounds the village, forests and fruit trees, intermingled with vines which paint a varying landscape of changing colors."
"The small estate vineyardsof Saint Jean du Barroux extend over 15 hectares of the hillside, at an elevation of between 300 to 400 meters. It consists of 11 hectares of vines and 4 hectares of fruit trees and forest, on alternating terraces and slopes. Owner and winemaker Philippe Gimel is the heart and soul of this tiny project, working the vineyards by hand in harmony with the environment." -Importer
