"With concentration and polish, this plush red delivers ripe, fresh fruit flavors of black cherry and boysenberry, with notes of toast, coffee, mineral and anise. The tannins are big but well-integrated. A modern style. Drink now through 2015. 4,000 cases made. -TM" -91 Points Wine Spectator

"Round, meaty, colorful and full of oak, chocolate and ripe fruit aromas. The palate is big and broad, with plum and boysenberry leading the troops. The mouthfeel deals some choppy tannins but all in all the wine has the right stuff, meaning it tastes fairly regal and offers a well-rounded feel." -90 Points Wine Enthusiast

"Tomás Esteban comes from a very old family of viticulturists and vine-growers. He had the skill, more than 25 years ago, to plant his vineyards and graft on to them old vines of high quality that were particularly suited to the local conditions. The vineyards of Bodegas y Viñedos Valderiz currently consist of 60 hectares planted by Tomás Esteban and 10 hectares which belonged to his father and which have been successfully maintained."

"The family was one of the first to take up ecological agriculture in the Ribera del Duero. The complete absence of herbicides, pesticides and mineral fertilizers is our hallmark. This type of cultivation has enabled us to achieve a well balanced plant and a residue free soil, resulting in a fruit of exceptional quality. Since the year 2000, a small area of land has been cultivated using biodynamic practices." -Winery

"A plush texture carries flavors of black cherry, tobacco, cedar and tar in this plump red, which has an alluring sanguine tang and stays fresh and firm through the spicy finish. Tempranillo, Garnacha and Mazuelo. Drink now through 2012. 20,000 cases made. -TM" -90 points Wine Spectator

"Garnet ruby red in color with red brick glints. Nose of ripe fruit with mineral notes, leather, and vanilla. The mouth brings out the wine's concentration through its noteworthy tannins which are well balanced and flavorful." -Winery

"After 20 days of maceration in stainless steel tanks at 86 degrees Fahreinheit, the wine is transferred to new tanks where it goes through malolactic fermentation naturally. Then it is placed into barrels of American and French oak where it is aged for 12 months." -Winery
