In 1988, following the advice of Scienza, an experimental five-hectare vineyard was prepared in order to identify, in an area hitherto without a quality tradition, the ideal vine for growing there...The choice of Syrah was therefore not a concession to the trend towards international vines, typical not only of that period, but rather the result of scrupulous field research aimed at identifying a vine able to give its very best precisely because of the particular characteristics of the area." -Winery
