The tannins are nicely submerged, but this is a bit hot and needs time to settle into itself. Best from 2009 through 2015. 250 cases made." -92 points Wine Spectator

"The 2006 Pixie Syrah which was sourced from the Kiona Vineyard in Red Mountain. It was aged in 60% new French oak. Opaque purple-colored, the huge, brooding bouquet displays balsam wood, earth notes, smoked meat, pepper, and blueberry. Made in a no-holds-barred style, this is a slightly uncivilized, thick, dense, chewy Syrah with opulent fruit, plenty of structure, and exceptional length. At the moment, it lacks complexity so it will be fascinating to see what might evolve with 4-6 years of cellaring.
