"With 15% Cab Sauvignon, this is a meaty, red fruit-driven red that delivers lingering notes of exotic spice, clove, cherry cola and roasted espresso bean. Nutmeg-like flavors appear in the mouth, followed by tight tannins and a rocksolid structure." -Wine Enthusiast

"Silicata is the name of an ancient Roman road that branched off the famous Via Appia, and passed not far from the Selvanova hills. The Silicata grapes were part of the first selection in our vineyards. The vineyards are south facing with calcareous clay soil at an elevation of 200 meters. The grapes are harvested by hand and selected at the cellars. The Cabernet is harvested at the beginning of October and the Aglianico at the end of October."

"The must is fermented in steel tanks for about 12 days, with frequent remontages and delestages, with the temperature reaching no higher than 30 degrees Celsius. Maloactic fermentation occurs in barrel and the wine is aged for 12 months. The total production is approximately 9,000 bottles." At the end of the alcoholic fermentation process, the wine is transferred to wooden barrels in which maloactic fermentation takes places for about 12 months. "

"The Silicata is a full red wine, rich, fresh and fruity, but also of remarkable aromatic complexity, it is balsamic with elegant notes of blueberry, plums and graphite." -Winery
