91 Pts Josh Raynolds - Vinous Media |
"Bright red. Impressively complex bouquet displays dried red berries, kirsch, olive, tobacco and smoky minerals. Gently sweet, with silky texture and light-bodied but potent red berry and bitter cherry flavors. Gains weight with air and finishes with excellent clarity, cling and persistence." -International Wine Cellar |
Description:
"Rolled 'galets' stones on the top with clay and sand under. Hillside vineyard, situated on the block 'Cabrieres' on the north side of Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Manually harvested, hand selected grapes and individually selected berries, destemmed. There are 20 to 25 fermentation and maceration days. Aged in vat first, second in oak foudres from June to the bottling 2 or 3 years after.
"Lovely expressive, complex nose marked by the fragrances of ripe berries (raspberry, cherry), notes of liquorice, truffle and undergrowth, underscored by sweet spices (nutmeg) and roasting aromas. An ample, elegant and powerful bouche dominated by a luscious fruitiness combining flavours of dark cherries in brandy and the fragrances of garrigue, yielding an elegant, sweet-spice finish. A wine with a lovely elegance that will reveal its full potential in three to four years." -Winery
