Please note, orders are processed on a first come basis. If you leave the wine in your cart for even a few minutes it might have already sold out as our stock quantity is removed when you submit the order in final, not when you add it to your cart!

You will get two emails from us with regards to your order. The first email from us only confirms that we received your order. The second email will confirm that we have enough wine to fill your order. Due to the high volume of sales there are times when the wine has sold out, but our system is still updating and shows it as available. We're sorry for any inconvenience and will do what we can to fill your order!

Thanks to your feedback we might bring back some of Cinderella Wine's popular previous offers. If a wine makes another appearance here, this newer offer will always be slightly higher than the original one. Offers that are on the site on Friday through Sunday will be shipped on Monday.

94 Pts Wine & Spirits

"Sara Perez and Rene Barbier, Jr. produce this wine from steep hillsides around the town of Falset, in Montsant. The 2006 is their best vintage to date, a mix of carignan and syrah that shows unusual freshness, full of vibrant red fruit flavors that expand as the wine opens in the glass. It's powerful, with mineral acidity to counter the attack of the tannins. Still very young, it needs at least four years to reach its peak." 94 points Wine & Spirits

"The 2006 Venus is a blend of Carinena and Syrah aged in 20% new French oak for 18 months. It offers up an already complex bouquet of mineral, scorched earth, spices box, black cherry, and blackberry. On the palate it is medium to full-bodied with excellent volume. Forward and flavorful but in need of a bit more stuffing, this ripe and savory offering can be enjoyed now and over the next 6-8 years." 91 points - Jay Miller - Wine Advocate

WINE:
"The vines are 10-70 years old. Following carefully hand selection, fermentation occurs in open 500 L barrels at 29-32 degress Celsius, in wood vats and concrete tanks. The maceration lasts for about 32 days. After pressing, the wine enters into french barrels of 300 L, of which 20% new. Every year the elevage time varies, but it is normally between 18 and 24 months."

"All of the vineyard sites are farmed organically and located within a 5km radio of the southern Montsant D.O, but with subtle differences in climatic influences and soils." -Importer

WINERY:
"Venus La Universal is the creation of young and super-talented enologist Sara Perez, the driving force behind Mas Martinet in Priorat, and Dominio de Bibei in Galicia. Sara's father Luis was, along with Rene Barbier, the driving force behind the emergence of Priorato twenty years ago."

"Venus' stunning 1999 debut vintage, established the new Denominacion de Origen Montsant with a serious place in the Spanish wine scene in 2001. The wines are made from schist & granite composed parcels at altitudes between 300-700 meters above sea level, on steep terraces, around the village of Falset benefitting from dramatic day/night temperature shifts. Today Sara has joined forces with her husband Rene Barbier Jr. to form an unbeatable duo with talent and experience, to bring their parents work full circle." -Importer

REGION:
"'This denomination allowed me to express with wine something different that I could not do in the Priorat. Montsant, because of its climate and soils, afforded me the opportunity to look for the most feminine side of wine: elegance, mystery and freshness through the Carinena variety.'" -Winemaker Sara Perez
