Cinderella Wine says: Product Details:
Please note, orders are processed on a first come basis. If you leave the wine in your cart for even a few minutes it might have already sold out as our stock quantity is removed when you submit the order in final, not when you add it to your cart!

You will get two emails from us with regards to your order. The first email from us only confirms that we received your order. The second email will confirm that we have enough wine to fill your order. Due to the high volume of sales there are times when the wine has sold out, but our system is still updating and shows it as available. We're sorry for any inconvenience and will do what we can to fill your order!

Thanks to your feedback we might bring back some of Cinderella Wine's popular previous offers. If a wine makes another appearance here, this newer offer will always be slightly higher than the original one. Offers that are on the site on Friday through Sunday will be shipped on Monday.

Best Price on Web is determined by Wine-Searcher Pro prices as of yesterday: Wine Library sells this for our sale price of $19.98. There are 2 other stores that sell this wine from $22.99 to $25.99. You must be logged into the Pro Version of Wine Searcher to see all of the results.

Free Shipping on every order of 6 or more bottles!

Please Note it may take 24-48 hours for your order to be put together for store pickup. You'll get an email when it's ready for pick up.

Description:

#1 on the list of 5 great Vermentinos from the Wall St Journal 05/14/11 - "This lovely Pigato from the Liguria region of Italy (Pigato is the Ligurian clone of Vermentino) has a wonderfully savory quality—a nutty, almost bitter-almond-like note and lots of minerality in the bright, brisk finish." -Lettie Teague - Wall Street Journal

WINE:
"Sandy / alluvial soils in near the coast, and clay / limestone soils on hillsides further in-land. All vinification in stainless steel, temperature-controlled fermentation. On lees with regular batonnage for 50-60 days after fermentation finishes, no malolactic fermentation." -Importer

WINERY:
"Under Mirco’s direction the family has rebuilt the old winery and increased production, but the estate remains small and the wine is still a clear expression of the terroir. Mirco is proud to be in an area where wine estates are still family-run and most of his neighbors share his respect for traditional wines."

Massaretti lies just inland of Albenga on the Mediterranean coast, in what is probably the former riverbed of the Neva, which left a sandy alluvial soil. The area also enjoys striking diurnal temperature shifts thanks to the alternation between winds from the sea during the day and from the land at night. These two factors combine to provide the perfect home for Pigato and Rossese to develop their full aromatic potential, giving light wines that are easy to drink but more elegant and complex than you might expect."

"As with most wines from Liguria, the majority of Massaretti's production is consumed by tourist, though a small percentage is exported, mostly to Japan, where it is enjoyed alongside the Island nation's fish-focused cuisine." -Importer
