"(40% new French oak) Brilliant red. Fresh dark berries, cherry, candied flowers, incense and a hint of vanilla on the deeply perfumed nose. A spine of juicy acidity provides lift and focus to sweet black raspberry and boysenberry flavors that open up steadily on the back half. Conveys an appealing blend of power and finesse and finishes very long, showing resonating floral character and smooth, harmonious tannins." |
Description:
Oregon Pinot Noir is debatably the best Pinot Noir being grown in the United States. The cooler climate that is achieved in the Northwest makes them much more similar to actual Burgundy from France.
This small winery is young, but extremely exciting. Just over 15 years of production highlighting extremely small vineyard sites in the Willamette Valley. This bottling is the Deux Vert VIneyard Pinot Noir which is one of their smallest vineyard blocks. Notes of candied cherry, herbs, and spice all brought together in this bold Pinot Noir. The tannin structure is strong and the acidity is high.
This is a wine that is drinking well now, but can be cellared for the next 5 to 10 years!
