Made from 100% Roussanne, and possibly the greatest white from this estate to date, the 2015 Châteauneuf du Pape Blanc comes all from the Rayas and Les Blaquieres lieux-dits, and was raised all in barrels, 20% being new. This medium to full-bodied, beautifully pure white has serious amounts of stone fruits, citrus blossom and toasted bread, perfectly integrated acidity and a killer finish. It still has a touch of oak to integrate, but it should keep for over a decade. |
93 Pts Wine Spectator |
Mature, with flattering brioche, lemon curd, creamed yellow apple, macadamia nut and jasmine flavors all flowing together. A brioche note lingers longest on the still-juicy finish. Drink now through 2020. 230 cases made. |
Description:
Château Sixtineâs Blanc Châteauneuf-du-Pape is truly an incredible wine. Magnificent in appearance, with brilliant golden reflections, the wine reveals a flattering nose of buttery confections and ripe white fruits like pear. The palate is as generous as it is smooth⦠Counterbalanced by refreshing tones of citrus, the warming notes of toasted bread allows for an incredible palatal texture. Enjoy this wine as an aperitif, or pair with fish, scallops, lobster, poultry, truffle dishes, asparagus tarts, and goat cheese.
