"2013 was an outstanding year for winegrapes. Great heavy winter rains replenished the soil moisture and prepared the vines for healthy vegetative growth throughout the warm, dry spring and summer. The dry weather resulted in very small berries with bright acid and vibrant flavor. The fog that blankets the Russian River Valley creates a microclimate perfectly suited to growing intensely perfumed Sauvignon Blanc. The varietalâs signature lively âgreenâ aromas were optimized by the cool, stable weather and the harvest came earlier than anticipated in the first week of September."
Color: pale green/gold
Nose: lime, passionfruit, and gooseberry fruit with hints of freshly mown grass and fresh coriander
Palate: fresh, crisp and lively with dominant flavors of white peach, kiwi and lychee. Backnotes of mineral, chalk and a hint of clove on the finish.
Food pairings: Caesar salad, Thai curries, raw oysters, poached shellfish a perfect partner to sushi.
