Please note, orders are processed on a first come basis. If you leave the wine in your cart for even a few minutes it might have already sold out as our stock quantity is removed when you submit the order in final, not when you add it to your cart!

You will get two emails from us with regards to your order. The first email from us only confirms that we received your order. The second email will confirm that we have enough wine to fill your order. Due to the high volume of sales there are times when the wine has sold out, but our system is still updating and shows it as available. We're sorry for any inconvenience and will do what we can to fill your order!

Thanks to your feedback we might bring back some of Cinderella Wine's popular previous offers. If a wine makes another appearance here, this newer offer will always be slightly higher than the original one. Offers that are on the site on Friday through Sunday will be shipped on Monday.

92 Pts Wine Spectator

"This expressive white offers a complex mix of smoke, mineral, citrus and white fruit flavors. The generous texture and firm backbone keep this focused through the long finish. Drink now through 2016. 5,000 cases made. -TM" (2014)

87 Pts Wine Enthusiast

"Nectarine and brine are the lead aromas, but there’s also a sense of toasty oak that is lees-based. A creamy, resiny mouthfeel and flavors of briny citrus fruits and melon finish firm and snappy. -MS" (04/14)

Description:

WINE:
"This wine is made entirely from Godello, sourced from 20-year old vines grown in slate and granite soils in the higher elevations at the limits of the Valdeorras DO. Following fermentation in stainless steel, the wine is aged on the lees - sobre lias - for three months to add a creamy richness to the final wine." -Importer

TASTING NOTES:
"Luminous lemon-green in color, this wine entices the senses with notes of apples, kiwis, white flowers and hints of toast and biscuit. On the palate, this wine is fresh, supple and elegant - each sip makes you savor another." -Importer

WINERY:
"Victor Fernandez established Vina Somoza in 2001. His philosophy is to fully express the unique characteristics of the Godello grape by using the most advanced technical equipment along with careful viticultural practices."

"The winery is situated in Galicia along the ancient Camino Real, where grape-growing dates back to the Romans. The winery is tucked into the Cordillera Cantabrica Mountains in DO Valdeorras, which translates as "Valley of Gold." The soil is slate substratum irrigated by the River Sil, and the fertile land provides a hospitable home to vineyards. The climate is Mediterranean-Continental, influenced by the Atlantic Ocean."

"Supervising Vina Somoza's winemaking is well-known oenologist Fernando Gonzalez. Precise grape selection, quick, careful transport to the winery, and immediate pressing are prioritized to avoid early fermentation. The wine is fermented in French oak barrels to create a varietal wine bursting with floral notes, tropical fruit and the unique character of the Godello grape." -Importer
