Please note, tonight's wine is available on presale and is expected to arrive in mid-March.

Please note, orders are processed on a first come basis. If you leave the wine in your cart for even a few minutes it might have already sold out as our stock quantity is removed when you submit the order in final, not when you add it to your cart!

You will get two emails from us with regards to your order. The first email from us only confirms that we received your order. The second email will confirm that we have enough wine to fill your order. Due to the high volume of sales there are times when the wine has sold out, but our system is still updating and shows it as available. We're sorry for any inconvenience and will do what we can to fill your order!

Thanks to your feedback we might bring back some of Cinderella Wine's popular previous offers. If a wine makes another appearance here, this newer offer will always be slightly higher than the original one. Offers that are on the site on Friday through Sunday will be shipped on Monday.

94+ Pts John Gilman - View from the Cellar

"As I noted last year, the Cote du Py bottling from Chateau Grange Cochard hails from the oldest vines on the estate - one hundred and one years of age (in 2011) and planted at the very summit of this famous vineyard. The wine is brilliant, offering up a vibrant aromatic constellation of black cherries, plums, chocolate, stony, dark soil tones (the granitic base of Cote du Py is far more evident here than in the blended, Vieilles Vignes bottling) woodsmoke and a touch of cedar in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and still quite primary, with a rock solid core of pure fruit, a lovely sense of the vintage's sappiness, firm tannins and simply great length and grip on the youthful and very serious finish. Great juice. 2016-2040." (10/13)

Description:

Wine:
"Our flagship wine is from grapes grown on the most renowned terroir of Morgon; these lie on the slopes of crushed blue granite of the ancient volcano . This land gives the wine an intense underlying structure with brilliant dark fruit notes and long length in the mouth. The wine will continue to develop in the cellar for many years." - Winery

Morgon:
"The tiny appellation of Morgon has long been famous for the quality of its wine, and contains some of the finest terroir in the region. It is an ancient place, the Romans planted vines here, taking advantage of the structure and minerality drawn from the crumbling granitic schist. Morgon is known as a wine which reaches its best with ageing, and this quality gave rise to the French verb to "morgonner", the capacity to age."

"The heart of the appellation is the famed and sought-after Cote du Py a small old volcano which millions of years ago drew up to the surface rocks and minerals not seen elsewhere. The colour of the rock on the Cote du Py is blue, whereas the predominant colour nearby is pink, demonstrating in a very physical way the great difference of terroir over very small distances." - Winery

Winemaking:
"Family owned and managed, we make small quantities of fine wine by hand. We use only our own grapes grown in our own vineyards, and with minimal intervention. From the vine to the finished bottled wine, everything is done within a few hundred metres of the chateau."

"At harvest, the grapes are picked exclusively by hand into small boxes. On arrival at the Chateau each bunch is checked again manually using a vibrating triage table to ensure only the best grapes enter the fermentation vats."

"Each area of vines is vinified separately, carefully considering its particular needs and characteristics. Whilst many Morgons are vinified quickly, we favour slower, cooler fermentations, which allow the true character of the terroir to emerge gently and calmly. After vinification, our wines are matured in our own vaulted cellars on site, in large old oak "foudres", new oak barrels, or tanks. Bottling and labelling is also carried out at the Chateau at the optimal time of maturation of the wines depending on the wine and the year (normally 9 - 12 months); we only use natural corks." - Winery
