Exhibiting exotic, smoky aromas of black cherries, rose petal, licorice, singed leather, and searing minerality along with a medium-bodied, silky, and elegant palate, it builds beautifully with air and has clean, integrated acidity and ripe, polished tannin. The purity here is outstanding, and this knockout effort should be purchased by the case. It should drink nicely for 5-6 years, possibly longer." |

WINERY:
"Xavier et Mathieu come from a family of winemakers. Two of their great-grandfathers worked in Ferrals Les Corbieres, one of who used the local co-op (in fact, one of its founders) and another who used his own cellar. Pierre, their grandfather, followed their footsteps in the family business as did his own son Andre, the Xavier et Mathieu's father." "Andre Ledogar worked in the vineyards, but was also looking to further grow their business and invest in their product. In 1997, he bought an old viticultural building and rebuilt it into their new cellar. Xavier, the eldest son, fell in love with wine and became a winemaker like his father. VINEYARDS:
"The oldest Carignan in our vineyards is 100 years old. The youngest vines are 60 years old. The Carignan vines are located on hills, sloping vineyards, or terraces.
