90 Pts Wine Spectator

"This mouthfilling red displays unctuous plum and boysenberry fruit flavors that course along nicely, thanks to lively spice and toasted anise notes, with a strong graphite steak. Fleshy, but excellent acidity is well-embedded on the finish. Drink now through 2015. 4,600 cases made. - JM" (09/12)

Description:

Terroir:
"Over time, layers of sediment are deposited according to the whims and changes in climate. First, it is the sand coming from the Massif Central through rivers. And limestone and marl in a warm sea, and finally, the capital phase under the influence of climate became very dry, it is salt, gypsum, colored red and ocher clay which account for little little space. This triad as "Triassic" which was in turn covered by thousands of meters of sediment."

"Natural Conservatory of Mediterranean species, the site protects vineyards ranging from 100 to 500 m. The soil consists of marl soils from Oxfordian, senior Cretaceous and Triassic unique in the Rhone Valley, an exception for wine Cotes du Rhone ."

"The variability of geological conditions create nuanced and original micro-climate patterns, agronomic, which allow the expression of a wine typical favor a diversity of varieties:

- The Grenache grape variety basic AOC Rhone Valley, is resistant to drought and wind. Its richness in phenolic compounds (red fruits, licorice and spices) and power make it an essential variety.

- Syrah, dauphinoise of origin, is characterized by a strong purple color. Its aromatic potential (small red and black fruit, peppermint, licorice, coffee) and held in time, are assessed in assembly.

Through simple and rigorous measures, they take charge of their future, relying on the judgment of the consumer. These intangible rules are the foundation of this land, they guide the thinking and action of today's wineries and guide those of tomorrow at the foot of the Laces of Montmirail in the Rhone Valley ." - Winery
