Description:

2005 BRADFORD GRIST VINEYARD SYRAH:
"Fairly complex in the nose and showing both sweet, slightly caramelly oak and peppery Syrah spice as accents to its essential themes of ripe berry-and-plum fruit, this rounded and comparatively accessible effort runs true to promise once in the mouth. It is nicely balanced with plentiful fruit buffering its moderate tannins, and, while it should grow for several years, it is thoroughly tasty right now." -91 points Connoisseurs Guide to Wine

WINE:
"Fresh European plums, hardwood smoke and dark roasted coffee fill the nose while black cherry, raspberry and anise dazzle the palate. The fruits are balanced nicely with a touch of minerality and acidity. This union produces a wine that’s firm in structure, giving it tremendous potential as a versatile food wine, but ample and lush in ripe fruit for enjoyment with friends over a light meal."

"This wine was aged for 14 months in French, Hungarian, and American oak barrels in 50% new oak. In March 2007, this wine was bottled and released in October of 2007. Enjoy upon release or through 2015 when properly cellared." -Winery

This also scored 88 points by the Wine Spectator and 87 points in the Wine Enthusiast.

2006 CHATEAU BOUSCADE SEPT VENTS:
"La Bouscade's Les Septs Vents is a beautiful rendition of Syrah, a surprisingly elegant and fresh wine redolent of black cherries, plums, pepper, black currant and blueberries, with a hint of oak to add some stuffing and give it some nice body." -Importer

WINERY:
"David and Jo met at the University of London in the 1980's where they both read agricultural related degrees. David then continued his studies, as a post-graduate, in Viticulture and Oenology (winemaking) in Australia. They have aspired since early in their careers to establish a project such as Chateau La Bouscade to produce premium, hand crafted wines. Chateau La Bouscade is in the heart of the Minervois region of the Languedoc-Roussillon, France, a wine growing region which they recognise as having the climate and terroir potential to produce great wines with diversity and complexity. They moved to the Minervois, with their 3 teenage daughters, in 2004."

"Chateau La Bouscade has 12 hectares (30 acres) of vineyards stretching across stony hillsides in the heart of the Minervois region of the Languedoc-Roussillon, France. Many of the vines are over 40 years old, low-yielding, giving excellent fruit concentration and producing intense, complex wines. The grape varieties include: Syrah, Carignan, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Chardonnay, Vermentino and Macabéo. The cultivation techniques, and attention detail, produce grapes of premium quality and a range of hand-crafted wines." -Winery

2004 CHATEAU COQ D'ASTLEY:
"The majestic Coq d'Astley presides over these very special vineyards. Each day the venerable rooster announces the arrival of the morning to all who help coax the engrossing flavors of this Bordeaux blend from the vine to the bottle. Enjoy with close family and friends. 76% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc." -Winery

2005 ADOBE ROAD SONOMA SYRAH:
"Ripe, supple and full-bodied, with plush plum, black cherry and wild berry fruit that's polished and elegant, holding its focus through the long finish. Drink now through 2014. 446 cases made. –JL" -92 points Wine Spectator

WINE:
"Hand harvested whole clusters that were cold soaked and fermented in small, open top bins that were punched down twice daily through fermentation and gently basket pressed. This wine is barrel aged for 20 months in French and American oak. Bottled on June 20, 2007, the Sonoma County Syrah was released in June 2008."

"This wine is all about richness- deep luscious plum, blueberry and dark cherry fruit with dark earth, expresso, chocolate and scrumptious baking spices. This is a tremendously giving Syrah. Its big fruit and flavors meet eye to eye with generous alcohol and just the right amount of acidity to make this wine a truly unforgettable sipping experience." -Winery
