"Deep red. Highly fragrant bouquet evokes raspberry, blackberry and exotic peach, with a gentle tobacco quality adding complexity. Juicy dark berry flavors are unencumbered by tannins or rough edges, making this enjoyable already. Finishes bright and sweet, with excellent breadth and length. This producer was formerly known as Ravenswood Lane." -International Wine Cellar
"Max co-fermented Shiraz and Viognier has a raspberry, licorice and white pepper spice bouquet and a juicy black cherry / berry palate with lovely soft tannins. Contemporary, slippery and sensuous. Max, slide into it.
Technical Information: Alc. 14.3%, ph 3.6, TA" -Winery
More about this producer: "John Edwards, a self professed bon viveur, developed a thirst for global business through entrepreneurial and marketing roles in the diamond tool, granite and grand prix industries. This lifestyle however came at a price. After an Adelaide, London, Johannesburg, Paris fast turnaround flight John knew something had to change!
The wine industry was in a boom cycle. John didn't have any viticultural experience but he knew someone he could trust to be his Guru. He searched for two years for land with the aspect and terroir he wanted for his vineyard. When he walked through the old farm gate on Ravenswood Lane, he realised his dream - land on which he could grow extreme quality fruit for distinguished, complex, sought after wines." - Winery
Shiraz-Viognier blends are common in Australia and follow the tradition of Northern Rhone viticulture. The co-fermentation of Viognier with Shiraz is to add more aromatics to a wine, such as peaches and/or floral notes.

Discussion On Tonight’s Wine

I felt so good about my purchase last night that I put in an order for another 3… lol. Cinderella Wine Anonymous, anyone?
Kinda wish it weren’t a screw cap, though. Anyone who doesn’t know better may assume it’s a cheaper bottle–a drawback of giving this as a gift.
Cindy Staff,
Thanks much for these everyday drinking deals. How about a Zin or a Washington cuvee at this price point? Great work.
CW – how about the ’05 San Vicente Rioja as a possibility next week?
Tom, your wife knows what she’s doing bud. Quality ingredients, including wine, will make that sauce taste amazing. One cup of Barolo is only a couple of dollars more than a cup of a cheaper wine. An added benefit is, that sauce will pair well with the Barolo. If you are a foodie, you know what I’m talking about. Cheers!!!
In for six. This is how we do it at my house. I pick-up a good supply of stuff like this and it goes in the top rack in my basement. My wife knows to pull from the top rack so when I wake up on Sunday and smell a nice tomato gravy going I can smile when I see a $10 bottle open next to the range and I know that that was used to saute the onion!!! No more $40 Barolos into the sauce …. Thanks WL
thanks for the link coupe 60. Gotta love the name “off the leash”. This will be a fun wine, and would like to see the “off the leash” chardonnay offered here.
I don’t need AA for an additction but could use CA, or Cinderella Anonomys! I’m addicted to buying wine from this site!! Please help…
My first cindy purchase. Medium time WL store customer. Something about getting the wine delivered is anti-climactic, but I am getting used to it. Thanks folks.
Twilight zone… It worked this time, weird. It must be my superior computer skills at work again…ha, yeah that’s it. Good deal though, can’t wait to give it a whirl. Thanks
I have not submitted it yet because it showed a final price on the verification page of $60 for 3. I will submit it now and let you know what happens… Thanks.
Bus Driver: Did you submit the order as of yet? I don’t see it on your account – We are not having any issues right now but if you have a problem – send me an email! Brandon@winelibrary.com
Stevegeorge – You are correct!! We have adjusted this!
I believe that stevegeorge is correct on the region of Oz that this wine comes froom…Here is their website:

My first CW purchase. In for 3.
Dear Cindy, I’m not proud…in for 3…but I’m gonna hate myself in the morning…btw- I’ve had this wine, it’s decent juice, and great QPR!
This is a half-case buy easily except…
I AM NOT BUYING WINE CINDY. NO!!! I am out of money until next month and then it’s Christmas gift money. NO NO NO.
But what a great deal!
@JBoz – hilarious.
This wine is from the Adelaide Hills not the Barossa Valley. Still a great region but wrong info.
Too good a deal to pass! Great wine for holiday parties! In for a case and a half! Thank you Cindy!
OK. I’ve had consistent luck with Cindy but come on – shiraz/viognier. The market is flooded with this stuff and all at the same price point. Gimme some more of the collectibles, the Rhones, the closet cabs and old vine Zins. Quit with the every day crap.
Too good to pass up. A $30 bottle for that price point, have to go for 6.
I didn’t have a problem. It shows both the normal price and a little over to the right the Cindy price. I would order and then email Brandon, he will make it right if there are any problems.
Sounded good…but everytime I go to checkout the price is 19.98 and not the 9.98 or whatever the change. Every other purchase I have made gives the Cindy price, but not tonight… Anyone else have this problem this evening? Sure would like to pick up 3 or so at the Cindy price and not twice as much like it keeps trying to charge me.
Ohhh, Cindy baby. You are practically giving yourself away tonight. What’s up with that? Tough week and you need to make the rent? What, what’s that you are asking me? Am I in for 6? Of course I am, but you already knew that, didn’t you? You’re just so cheap and naughty, I can’t resist. I’ll leave the $60 on the nightstand. See you next week. Oh, and please don’t tell my wife.
I was really, really, really trying………and then it struck me…….I picked up a case and just completed my Christmas shopping for the office……and before Thanksgiving!!! Thanks, Cindy!!!
In for two. Will be interesting to compare to other regularly discounted 2006 $10ish shiraz/viognier and it will vanish quickly.
Here’s another review: 85pts with loads of description and snark. Hold this to a high standard: http://bit.ly/51aEvb
Cannot beat the value, sounds nice, if it is not my style, I have two bottles to gift for X-Mas. $30, 3 bottles + free shipping, let the good sips roll!
Ahhhh… I love it. I can’t resist, but at 30 beans for a three-pack, I’m also not going to feel guilty. I absolutely loved the Syrah-Viognier blend on the Ridge Lytton West. I’m obviously not expecting this to match, but I’m definitely looking forward to trying this. Thanks CW/WL!
In for three…. again.. Thank you for the great deals, we have not been disappointed yet! We might have to expand our wine cellar if you keep this up!
Not that it is helpful for the review, only 1 score with no write-up, but it will help users add to inventory.
http://www.cellartracker.com/wine.asp?iWine=421187
tried to hold off for Dec’3 mystery packs but a $20+ bottle for $9.88… come one cindy you make it impossible to resist. gv have pity on us and our wallets.
My crew is in for 6 . . .
p.s. Thank you Cindy!!!
Easy decision for me. 3 on the way at a pittance of a price + free shipping. I enjoy Barossa wines. WA rated the vintage a 94. I like the description and who doesn’t want a little more Shiraz sitting around when your friends “just drop by”? This is easily worth the $30 smacks for an any day drinker.
Pazzz for me.. great deal but a much needed night off for me.. Hope I can hold out until December..
What the heck!! GO PATS!! Stop crying Rex it’s embarrassing. You big I mean really BIG BABY
Just when I said no more…the boxes are starting to stack up and FedEx has my house first on their route now. I’m definitely in for Barossa Valley at this price and CW hasn’t disappointed yet. Pack up another box for the pile!
This is the “cellar-saver” deal I needed. It removes the guilt from that week night pop-n-pour. I’m in for six!!!
Thanks Cindy, Gary, et al. I luv you guys!!
I do love me some under $10 wine… I could go for this.
Good choice. How about a white + red combo for the holidays? Perhaps a Landmark combo? A little Pinot + Chard?
I believe that review is from 2007 — has anyone had this lately?
Anyone ever try this? $30.00 beans for a hat trick, what’s to lose?
An aussie cote-rotie. I like the Kangarilla Road so may have to break my ‘No more cindy till december’ vow
I’m soooooo over overripe, overoaked Syrah and I’m pretty sure that’s what this is but what the heck – at this price I guess I got to try a few.
crap, missed it
#2, Go Lions!! Ha
!
another aussie makes the decision easier for me … zzzzzzzzz
Not for me, but thanks for a great deal, yet again. Have a good weekend, everyone.
Cost cutter ! GO VIKINGS !
