Description:
Michel Delhommeauâs Muscadet is unique from neighboring Muscadet producers, the vines grow out of Gabbro soil, a pure form of lava that has cooled into pure crystalline form. This is much different from the limestone and granite that most Muscadet grows in. These vines have a tough time growing but once they do they find an abundance of mineral nutrients to draw into their grapes. The winery uses no oak in the cellar and almost no intervention while the wine rests on the lees for six months before bottling.
This is a stellar bottle of white and anyone looking for a new wine experience or just looking for a quaffable Summer house wine needs to grab!
From young vines planted on gabbro soils, the Saint Vincent is a smack in the face with its sharp, stony minerality. But that component is matched and balanced with rich tropical notes of mango and pineapple. A very nice snap runs through the middle and the zingy sharp finish leaves your lips smacking for another sip.
"Vignes St-Vincent is a mineral-driven Muscadet from younger vines planted on gabbro and gneiss soils in the village of Monnières. One of the few estates left that harvests by hand; this wine is fermented by indigenous yeasts in subterranean tanks." -Importer
