Description:
"Gran Coeur is a limited production bottling inspired by the noble varietals of Bordeaux. Eastern Washington's Yakima Valley has the ideal climate & soil types to produce wines with a remarkable intensity of flavors & purity of fruit".--- Winery
This is a true balanced blend, which means that there is no one grape that completely dominates this wine. It is a Left Bank Bordeaux style so the grapes include Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petite Verdot, and Malbec. It spends 18 months in new oak so there is some influence there. Lots of big fruits and intensity on the forefront with lingering notes of toasted vanilla and roasted almonds. This is a big boy at 14.3% alcohol, but there is plenty of flavor and acidity to balance that out.
This is another great collectible that you don't want to lay down to make a profit, but lay down and experience it through its evolution. These style wines have a long shelf life, easily another 10-15 years. Buy a case of it and open one once a year for the next 12 years and see how this wine evolves over time. You won't be disappointed!
