"Bright purple. Deeply pitched black and blue fruit liqueur, espresso, cola, vanilla and woodsmoke are energized by suggestions of black pepper, pungent flowers and smoky minerals. Deep, appealingly sweet and youthfully tannic, offering bitter cherry, cassis, dark chocolate and root beer flavors that very slowly unfold on the back half. Distinctly rich, with an assertive oak veneer but there's a lot of fruit here as well. Finishes with strong, fruity persistence and cherry, steadily building tannins adding grip to tenacious dark fruit liqueur flavors. Nothing shy here, that's for sure."
