91 Pts Monica Larner - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

"The 2010 Terra is 85% Aglianico and 15% Negroamaro. The austerity and firm tannic backbone of Aglianico is enhanced by the opulent fruit ripeness of Negroamaro. On the nose, Terra presents savory tones of dark fruit, pressed raspberries and Asian spice. The wine is aged in barrique for 14 months and is then transferred to large oak casks for an additional 16 months. Despite that elaborate aging regime, those dark fruit flavors are not masked by the wood. Distant mineral tones add definition and focus."

Description:

"Conti Zecca is one of the great estates of the Salento. The commercial and critical success achieved with its monumental wine Nero has helped to raise the bar for the entire region. I have always been a fan of Conti Zecca's and have followed the estate's progress carefully over the years. I highly recommend these value-minded wines to those seeking authentic flavors from Southern Italy." - Monica Larner, Wine Advocate
