"The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate from Oak Knoll, which spent 20 months in 75% new French oak is another realistic value for a top-notch Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine (525 cases) has an opaque ruby/purple color, dense chocolaty cassis fruit and is a real pleasure-bomb style of wine that is full-bodied succulent and fleshy. Drink it over the next decade or more." |
Description:
The vineyard is planted to three different clones of Cabernet Sauvignon Each of the four vineyard blocks were hand-harvested at dawn and carefully hand sorted. The wine is aged for 20 months in an assortment of the finest French oak barrels that are chosen to complement the subtle nuances of the vineyard. The selection of these barrels further enhances the length, depth and complexity of this varietal and reveals a well-integrated wine that is made to last.
Gustavo Gonzalez started this vintage for Ideology. He started his career working at Robert Mondavi and since then, has made wine in 5 countries!
