92 Pts Luis Gutierrez - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate |
"The 2012 3000 Años was cropped from a relatively humid and cooler-than-average year in the Bullas zone. The grapes were ripe and the alcohol is around 15.5%. The wine had an extended élevage of some 16 months in 500-liter oak barrels with bâtonnage of the lees. It felt quite classical and developed after some time in bottle. There were some earthy, organic aromas interspersed with grape skin notes and a spirity touch. The palate is compact, seamless, with abundant, slightly dusty tannins, powerful and with a warm finish. 6,000 bottles were filled in July 2014." |
Description:
3000 Anos is a deep purple wine with pronounced aromas of black fruits andchicory characters -- unique to Bullas Monastrell -- toasty wood, cedar and cappucino. Despite being a fullbodied wine, it is surprisingly elegant with crisp acidity, tight tannins, a creamy vanilla texture and along mineral finish. Cellar a few bottles for up to 10 years to enjoy even more character and complexityat a later date, although it is also drinking brilliantly now with game, venison, wild boar and punchyragout or tomato-based dishes." - Winery
