92 Pts James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com

" Lots of ripe fruit with hints of cheese and earth on the nose. Full body, with velvety tannins that are round and intense. Serious density of fruit here. Better in a year or two. (Review posted in 2014)"

90 Pts Stephen Tanzer - Vinous Media

"Good full red. Redcurrant, mocha and cedary, smoky oak on the ripe nose, with a hint of peppery lift. Lush, ripe and concentrated, offering a dense, thick texture for this wine and a hint of salty herbs. Nicely subtle and perfumed in the mouth. Finishes with suave tannins and sneaky length. A sleeper of the vintage, for drinking over the next 15 years."

Description:

There are 3 BIG things to know about this offer!

- From the exceptional 2009 vintage in Bordeaux
- Made by the team at Pichon Lalande
- The wine is drinking well now, and will for quite some extra time (10 to 15 years from release date as stated in multiple reviews)

Chateau Bernadotte is a 30-hectare vineyard in Saint Sauveur, close to Pauillac and just beyond Saint-Estephe. The vineyard is now planted with 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot.
The chateau was built in 1860 and named after Marechal Bernadotte, then restored in 1989 by its previous Swedish owners. Sold to Madame May Eliane de Lencquesaing in 1998 (also owner of Pichon Lalande), she and the Pichon Lalande team made significant investments in the vineyards and in the cellar, almost rebuilding it from top to bottom, progressively raising the quality of the wines.

In 2007, Pichon Lalande and Bernadotte became the property of Champagne Roederer, increasing the quality and improving the style even further under the supervision of the Rouzaud family. Now, the 2009 and 2010 vintages are often considered as the best vintages at the property.

What does all the mean? The wine offered here was made under the supervision of the Pichon Lalande team, under the Roederer administration.

At the end of 2012, Chateau Bernadotte finally changed hands to its current owner, King Power, leaving the Pichon Lalande staples

The wine will arrive for Late September / Early October
