Description:
This wine is big. It's rich. It's full bodied.
Those are perhaps the best three terms to use when tasting it for the first time. For those of you who love full throttle reds, this may prove to be one of the best bottles of wine in the $30 range you have ever tried.
Once again, this stunning red from Tavros earned a huge 98 Point score from Luca Maroni and as we mentioned last year, those of you who love big Zins like Turley, Martinelli and others will want to check out this Southern Italian Red.
If you haven't heard of Primitivo, youâve probably heard of its new world counterpart Zinfandel. Originally from Croatia, Primitivo/Zinfandel was first brought to southern Italy and later, by Italian immigrants, to the U.S. West Coast.
This is a stunning example of what this varietal is all about and one of the best values in the shop right now!
"Intense ruby red. Wide and complex to the nose, fruity, with a prune and cherry jam aroma, with notes of tobacco, slightly spicy. A full-bodied wine, soft and rich in fine tannins, with notes of cocoa, coffee and vanilla in the end." - Importer
