"The 2009 Esencia Tempranillo Crianza is remarkably closed on the nose and demands a lot of encouraging. It reluctantly offers stony aromas, almost like walking into a limestone cave! The palate is medium-bodied with plenty of lovely juicy fruit, strawberry jam, fresh raspberry and just a touch of vanilla. It is well-balanced and much plusher than the deceptive nose suggests. Drink now and over the next couple of years. Anticipated Maturity: now-2015. -NM " (04/13) |
Description:
"The vineyards are located in the Cigales village and are treated for using the best and latest techniques. In order to produce good quality grapes, the yield must be limited to no more than 3.500 kg per area, which we do through careful work such as crop thinning during the growing season."
"Moreover, we do not use pesticides in our vineyards. We plough the soil and the grapes are all hand-collected. Once the grapes are ripe, we make sure to use only those which are of the highest quality in the elaboration of our wine."
"The collection of grapes is done manually in order to avoid damaging the grapes and to collect the perfect amount of grapes, in boxes of 40 kilos. The grapes are collected in small boxes and then immediately are taken back to the cellar, where the grapes will later be separated from the stems. After the grapes reach their optimum conditions, they are pumped into the fermentation vats." -Winery
