The second email will confirm that we have enough wine to fill your order. 92 Pts Wine Enthusiast

"This driving blend of Malbec with Syrah and Cabernet hails from Argentina's most northern vineyards. Bruising black plum and cassis aromas have mossy, floral sidenotes. It's grapy but not monotone, so you get boysenberry then spice flavors, especially clove. This is toasty on the finish, which has drying tannins. -M.S." (10/13)

90 Pts Stephen Tanzer - Vinous Media

"(70% malbec and 15% each syrah and cabernet sauvignon; from a rocky vineyard at 8,000 feet): Saturated deep ruby. Aromas of black fruits and mocha suggest a liqueur-like sweetness. Sweet, creamy-rich and very ripe, with dark berry flavors complicated by crushed stone, roast coffee and truffley earth. Reasonably well balanced for 15.6% alcohol. Finishes with big, plush tannins and impressive lingering sweetness." (04/13)

Description:

WINE:
"70% Malbec, 15% Syrah, and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. Vineyard: Maimara Vineyard. 8000 ft altitude. Aged 14 months in French Oak barrels. Unfined and unfiltered." -Importer

WINERY:
"The winery and vineyards are located in Maimara in the northwest of Argentina. The vineyards are located at the foothills of the Paleta del Pintor Mountain at an altitude of 8,202 feet. It is considered to be the highest altitude winery in the world. This is the only winery inside of the Humaguaca Creek, which is a unique location, declared by UNESCO as a Natural Heritage Site in 2003."

"The luminosity in this region is among the highest in the world. There is a stark contrast between day and night temperatures, scant rainfall, and a long and cool fall season. These conditions allow the grapes to reach optimum ripeness with high concentrations of flavor, aroma, and color while keeping their freshness. The unique, high altitude microclimate joined together with the special soils produce extremely unique wines with very special personality."

"The winery has worked hard to recover ancestral farming practices and respect the environment and its energy cycles. No pesticides or chemical fertilizers are used and all the vineyard work and harvest is done by hand. Marcos Etchart, from Yacochuya, is the traditional and artisanal wine maker behind these wines. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with only the estate’s native yeasts. Work at the winery is done by gravity. Only 1,000 cases are produced each year." -Importer
