"A red with soft and silky tannins and ripe and sweet fruit. Full and juicy with a dried strawberry and plum aftertaste. Drink or hold." (02/13) |
90 Pts Monica Larner - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate |
"La Lecciaia's 2008 Brunello di Montalcino is an attractive, straightforward offering. Sweet scents of tobacco, juicy dark cherries, licorice, smoke and game add complexity as this supple, expressive wine opens up in the glass. A beautifully balanced, harmonious Brunello with virtually no hard edges, the 2008 should drink beautifully for another decade, if not more. It is one of Montalcino's under-the-radar jewels. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2023. " (06/13) |

"The Lecciaia purchased by Mauro Pacini in 1983, transformed and equipped with the most advanced winemaking techniques, Azienda Agricola is young but in full respect of ancient traditions of Brunello di Montalcino. Situated in the locality Vallafrico the border with the oldest and most prestigious farms in Montalcino , where the particular location, the soil structure and the goodness of the microclimate in the past have allowed the birth of the prestigious Brunello wine."
"It covers 60 hectares including forests, olive groves and 15 hectares of vineyards of which more than half enrolled in the production of Brunello . The rest are dedicated to the production of other wines with structure, character and exceptional taste." - Winery
