90 Pts Wine & Spirits

"You can feel the youth in this wine, the tightness and greenness of the fruit. It's simple and bright when you pull the cork; beautiful, fresh chardonnay a day later. It lingers with orange scents and feels like it's been carved from white rock." (04/14)

Description:

WINE:
"The signature cuvee Chablis from Leflaive is an outstanding value true to the character of Chablis. Chablis Les Deux Rives is a blend of several terroirs on both sides of the Serein River, thus the name 'Les Deux Rives' or 'Two Banks'. Grapes are carefully selected from several suppliers. The different parcels are vinified separately in 100% stainless steel. The wine is blended and bottled young to preserve freshness and acidity." -Importer

WINERY:
"The Leflaive family has been rooted in Puligny Montrachet since 1717. In 1984 Olivier Leflaive launched his own company Olivier Leflaive Freres with the help of his uncle Vincent and his brother Patrick. He quickly established his own reputation amongst Burgundy's finest."

"In 1988 Franck Grux took over as a winemaker and still holds this role today. Over the two past decades he was able to establish a strong long term relationships with the best growers and the quality of the wines is outstanding. Olivier Leflaive Freres is known today as a small negociant of high quality with a focus on the whites from the famous villages of Puligny, Chassagne and Meursault. Olivier Leflaive is continuously expanding and has acquired several vineyards that allow him to develop and build up a range of Domaines Wines alongside the negoce business. Today Leflaive owns about 15 hectares of several parcels in Puligny Montrachet, Chassagne Montrachet, Chassagne Montrachet 1er cru Les Chaumees, Chassagne Montrachet 1er cru Les Vergers, Chassagne Montrachet 1er cru Abbaye de Morgeot and Chassagne Montrachet Clos St Marc.
