94 Pts Neal Martin - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

"Tasted single blind against its peers. The oft-overlooked Rabaud-Promis 2007 seems to get better and better every time I come back to it. The nose demands coaxing from the glass, however, peering deep inside there are some lovely pure tangerine and almost Muscat aromas developing. The palate is very well-balanced with good tension and spice. It is an energetic Sauternes with impressive weight and persistency on the botrytis-rich finish. It has length and great harmony, but given its upward curve, I would keep my bottles safely in the cellar. Tasted January 2011." (02/12)

92 Pts Wine Enthusiast

"There are big flavors of botrytis here, giving a wine with power and concentration. The texture is muscular, tightness surrounding botrytis and layering with pineapple acidity and apricots. -RV" (06/10)

88-91 Pts Stephen Tanzer - Vinous Media

"Pale yellow-gold. Ripe aromas of peach, coconut and vanillin oak. Juicy, spicy and pure in the mouth, with flavors of cherry-almond, marzipan and coconut and a whiff of banana. Finishes with very good length." (08/08)

87-90 Pts Wine Spectator

"Thick and rich, with plenty of dried apple, spice and sliced pineapple character. Full-bodied, very sweet and slightly one-dimensional. Wait and see. Score range: 87-90 -JS" (2008)

Description:

"Limpid greenish light gold. Very lively intriguing nose. Pear syrup. A hint of pear drops but a pretty appealing combination of extreme richness with lively acidity. Lots of fine botrytis. Real dazzling life to it. Long. But not heavy or big. Drink from 2017 to 2030." - 18.5 out of 20 Points, Jancis Robinson, Jancis Robinson's Purple Pages

Wine:
"Pure notes of fresh fruit burst onto the palate: pear, apricot, mango, damson plums, all underlined by flavours of spring honey and slightly stewed tropical fruit."

"2007 was influenced by the length of the harvest and the number of sortings: as many as six waves of picking depending on the plots… Each sorting brought with it its own character: aroma, vivacity, opulence, all coming together to create a complex wine." -Winery

Pairing:
"Unquestionably as an aperitif, and also with scallop and citronella brochettes, caramelized leg of lamb and cubed vegetables or summer fruit salad with mint and lemon verbena." - Winery

Producer:
"The estate has been producing expressive, well-balanced wines since the 17th century; wines that constantly reveal an explosive wealth of aromas. Château Rabaud-Promis dominates the Ciron and Garonne valleys, where the region’s specific micro-climate works its magic and concentrates all the flavours so particular to Sauternes wines."

"It is at the heart of this environment that our family of winemakers endeavours to pursue a policy of sustainable viticulture, preserving the biodiversity of the land. On the estate natural habitats, forests, and wildlife are held in great esteem."

"Know-how passed down from one generation to the next, coupled with today's technologies, allow us to produce seductive, generous wines for both neophytes and connoisseurs."

"When the time comes for vinification, we endeavour to preserve the exceptional taste of our grapes; the object of meticulous care and attention throughout the year. Our instincts impel us to create wines that combine freshness and generous aromatic intensity. This flawless balance opens the door to a multitude of culinary associations and has the power to transform a simple aperitif into an unforgettable aromatic experience." - Winery
